Today my wife logged in her 3, tadalafil 001st mile since she started running just 3 ½ years ago. I couldn’t be any more proud of her. Sure she has a wall of bibs, medals, and a closet full of race shirts and jackets, but it is her steady persistence that has encouraged me so much over the past few years. Greg Henderson, former pro bicyclist, famously once said; “Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.”
It was just over 3 years ago when she ran her first few laps around the church property, barely able to complete a ¼ mile. She made a commitment to God to spend half of her time running in prayer, which means that today she has logged in over 1,500 miles of prayer. Just as she has persevered through pain, fatigue, setbacks, and overcome challenges she never one dreamed possible, she has also prayed circles around healings, miracles, and the salvation of loved ones and strangers alike. My wife has lived out before my eyes the very heart of 1 Corinthians 9:24, in her running and prayer life she has run in such a way to get the prize. Because you cannot give up when you are tired, you have to keep fighting until the gorilla is tired. I many not know what gorillas you may be facing today, but I know that when you face the gorilla with God by your side the gorilla is never going to win.
